Rust Cathedral All-Over Print Tee

A cathedral nave is raised from stacked car bodies: crushed and roof-cut wrecks built up in courses as walls and clerestory, chrome bumpers and window frames run as string courses and mouldings, and hubcap rosettes are fixed in the spandrels of the arches. A rusted car grille stands as the altar at the end of the aisle with candles burning on the step, stripped bench seats are set as pews, and a scorched runner runs down the centre of the floor. HIGH RISK is stamped into the rusted steel of the altar rail in letters that share its bloom, rivets and flaking paint. The all-over print carries the nave on the front, a border-ornament reverse drawn from the same gothic arches, grille and rosettes, and sleeve panels cut from the artwork's own outer bands, which carry rust bloom, flaking paint and grille detail rather than any lettering.

The print covers the whole garment - front, back and both sleeves - on a smooth, cotton-touch polyester jersey that is printed first and then cut and sewn to fit. The front composition sits inside a dark printed field that runs to the panel edges.
